rage filled rant be warned

so i've been trying to get remortgaged which you would think would be an easy task but it's been nothing but a huge headache. i've been living in my house for 5 years and my mortgage term is up on the 27th of Aug. no biggie right? just remortgage with my lender and things will be peachy especially since i have never missed a payment and have been on time will all my transactions with them. were they gouging me with a steep interest rate right up my butt? yes. were they going to lower it when i resigned? no. why? because they couldn't just simply resign. i would have to re apply for a mortgage as the one that they offered before (a 40 year term now the govt changed it to a 30yr term) so instead i switched my mortgage to another lender with the help of a broker. unfortunately the broker could only do it before the mortgage was up so now i'm stuck paying a huge huge penalty fee for leaving my mortgage early. and my lawyer fee isn't anything to sneeze at either. i feel like i have to go this way since 3 banks said they didn't want to take me because i wanted to pay off my credit card with the extra money and lower my debt ratio, and they didn't like the fact that i'm a fully capable reproducing female who has no spouse or other source of income if i was to you know, get knocked up. so frustrating. i can't wait for this to be over. oh and did i mention i had to get my husband brenty to come sign saying that i am allowed to have a mortgage. yup. we really should get on that divorce paper work. then they decided that they didn't have all the papers they needed which means it gets held up another day or so meaning every day i wait i have to pay my lawyer a fee which is now going on day 4 ugh. hopefully its all done today...it should be right? *passes out in frustration*
